Agile Web Development with Rails 8: Active Storage Config Happens By Default In Rails 8 Chapter 16 Task K (B3 PDF p 253)

The creation of the products scaffold in Task A requires ActiveStorage and newly created Rails 8 apps provide the configuration needed by Task H by default. Some of the content in Task H about ActiveStorage setup should be moved back to Task A around page 70. The code changes on page 253 are no longer needed, and the Setting Up Active Storage section on page 253 can refer back to how we already set up ActiveStorage back in Task A.

This was always true; this section does ask you to change anything, it just shows you (" Rails has already preconfigured the development and test environments for you to use Active Storage. … take a peek") where these definitions are. That being said, the title of the section and a few places give the impression that you need to take an active role; I’ve adjusted/eliminated those; and added a pointer into the new section within the deployment chapter that will show up in the next beta where you actually will be adjusting this for production.

Thanks!
