Back in 2010 I grabbed a Sony stereo receiver, CD player, and speakers off the curb in front of somebody’s house and brought it home to hook up to my computer. The whole system still worked, so its previous owner must have had other reasons for getting rid of it.

I use it in my home office, so when I listen to Master Boot Record so does the rest of my neighborhood. Not to mention the local police department.

I use a cheap Phillips computer speaker set (with subwoofer), they aren’t bad at all but I’ve had significantly better before too. I still use a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 (with the tray extension thing and remote) and that is honestly the best part of my whole sound setup. It’s still better than any onboard card on the newest of motherboards, especially with a good midi collection!
