Build a Weather Station with Elixir and Nerves:

I’m interested in this book but it appears that the VEML6030 light sensor is out of stock everywhere (US and UK) with year long lead times.
So is there an alternative light sensor that could be used? If one omitted the light sensor would that be a problem?

thanks

Paul

I had the same concern and I was able to find one on eBay, shipping from the UK. More conventional suppliers were out with no expected restock date.

Further, I’ve been unable to get a Pi Zero W with the headers already attached. Soldering is not my strong suit and I completely destroyed a Pi Zero 2 W attempting as much. I’ve since found “GPIO Hammer Headers” at Adafruit, so I’m giving that a try.
