There are waaaaaay too many Editor based 3d engines out, where are the good programmer-centric 3d engines (and I don’t just mean raw libraries, I mean a good ‘programmer’ style building environment, data definitions, etc… etc…)…

Does Unreal offer something there? They’re the leaders in game engines so I would be surprised if not?

Not really, they are VERY editor centric as well, hard to do anything without their editor. It’s built for designers, not so much programmers.
