Build Websites with Hugo: Comments Befuddle Hugo
HTML-style comments (and Hugo-style, as well) in any of the .html input files (index.html, layouts//*, etc.) cause Hugo to silently generate an empty output.
Very annoying for those who wish to “document their code.”
