Programming Ruby 3.2 (5th Edition): B2.0 page 446, ètè?

page 446, in Names, paragraph 8 (counting Table 12 as one) :

If the source file encoding is UTF-8, ∂elta and ètè are both valid local variable names.

Is ètè deliberate ? In the previous edition (end of book’s page 314) it was été (summer in French).
