Section Enforcing Grammar …, pag. 43, in the Modal.yml script, a closing quote is missing in the message.
Instead of

message: "Use present tense instead of '%[1]s %[2]s." level: warning

it should be

message: "Use present tense instead of '%[1]s %[2]s.'" level: warning
