Beautiful article. The title is misleading though, because he’s not talking about team building, psychology or any of that communication nonsense.

Instead his focus is on systems building and thinking. And how suddenly the lower levels of a system are mystical because they are not being taught.

Here’s a nice snippet:

The problem? There’s not enough fresh blood coming in. Why? Because system-level stuff just isn’t sexy anymore. Not when you can train an LLM to roleplay as a pirate therapist in five lines of Python.

Also hint: "Full stack as per this article means the entire computer system(CPU, Graphics, Windowing etc) and NOT just the front end/backend divide for web developers.

Excellent read!

Seems better for teams to have separate experts for front-end and backend, isn’t it?

I think that’s the wrong way to look at things.

In the article the author mentions the importance of nurturing and training foundational knowledge and skills as opposed to hoping and hiring for it.

Splitting teams across front and back won’t solve anything if the people in those teams don’t understand the foundational concepts behind computing. And that’s what this article is about.
