Ok this was a nice straight to the point article!

For those too lazy to read or busy or unbothered, this snippet below should do the trick

why would I want to do this?

I noticed that google had scanned my website and is now promoting my little helper app I made that people like a lot, and so now when they search for things related to the problem they are having that it helps solve, it tells them about my app. I like this. Its also better than the old keyword search.

I don’t really want to force people to go to my website, I don’t put ads on it though and don’t plan on it.

What about those annoying cooking websites that are so filled with ads and crap, that you can’t even read any of the recipes? so happy that I get a nice AI generated summary of it, without the junk ads.

You are likely one of the few who benefit from AI summaries and that’s because you don’t have any original written content.

If you had written an original story/article and then had some random AI summarize it, leading to no/reduced traffic to your site, then your response would be different.
