The key takeaway from the article:

Don’t choose tools that alienate you from your work. Choose tools that leverage the wisdom you’ve already accumulated, and which help you to cultivate a deeper understanding of the discipline.

And I think this explains the current frustrations with most frameworks: they are always hiding something. Something important.

Sometimes it seems a framework is the punishment you get for not knowing the fundamentals. And if you do know the fundamentals, then the framework is the punishment you get for being too smart :slight_smile:
