OSINT used to be a thinking game. Now it’s becoming a trusting game and that should terrify you.I’ve seen it firsthand, analysts running solid investigations, then slowly shifting more and more of the thinking to GenAI tools. AI is supposed to help us do our jobs better. But it seems that it makes us lazier. :frowning:

Learning to write lead to a reduction in memorization skills.
The advent of calculators led to a reduction in basic math skills.
Fancy registers removed teller’s need to make change.
Computers in general have caused a reduction in handwriting skill.

New technology displaces old skills. That’s normal. AI is likely to do the same. The question is whether it end up being a long term detriment or not; that’s uncertain.
