Learning to write lead to a reduction in memorization skills.
The advent of calculators led to a reduction in basic math skills.
Fancy registers removed teller’s need to make change.
Computers in general have caused a reduction in handwriting skill.

New technology displaces old skills. That’s normal. AI is likely to do the same. The question is whether it end up being a long term detriment or not; that’s uncertain.
