Netflix style streaming applied to the web browser

Has anyone else seen this:

I was trying to think about it from a dev perspective. There could be a possibility of using something like this with GitHub Codespaces for a lot of development work. Probably would not work with embedded dev work though.

Thoughts?

Yeah, I’m not sold on the idea either @AstonJ. A couple of the first things that came to my mind with this approach was security and privacy since you would be basically “sending your keystrokes” to some system in the cloud.

That would be a concern of mine too Dwayne and why I probably wouldn’t use it. Also WASM is only going to get better and more efficient over time, so many web apps will run at near native speeds/performance anyway :smiley:

Also I’m not sure how it would work with IME devices, screenreaders, or on bandwidth constrained systems?
