No console price cuts, means no gamers, means no sales, means no profits. It’s a never ending crash and burn cycle that companies will have to learn the hard way.

It’s a shame to see gaming consoles starting to approach the prices of GPU cards.

If a PS5 is the same price as a GPU which works on a multi-purpose computer then what’s the incentive to buy a gaming console?

It used to be platform exclusives and architecture, but since they went to a PC-like architecture and now release most games on PC too it’s not become more about convenience and getting exclusives first and the general eco-system. Having said that I still prefer consoles..

I like consoles too, but I don’t see myself getting a PS5 anytime soon. The old PS4 is still working, and there are tons of games to play.

At the same time, time is at a premium and gaming seems boring compared to say playing an instrument or reading a book…

This hunger for profits at all costs while giving less is feeling so Apple like. Consoles will soon start being/looking “elitist” like the Macs and iPhones…
