This was a long time coming. Swift is much more appealing syntax-wise than say Java, Kotlin and C#(remember Xamarin, anyone?).

Still, there’s a lot of pending compatibility work required and some complex/advanced apps may not work but this is a step in the right direction.

With Swift, you can create iOS and macOS apps, build backends with Vapor, and now develop Android apps too. I’m looking forward to seeing this part mature soon so I can build an end-to-end product in one fine language.

Seems Apple been partnering with Google a lot lately. They will be using Gemini with Siri.
