I Have Decided to Stop Supporting My Family's Non-Linux Devices
Refusing to support my friends’ and family members’ devices that do not run Linux is the next step in my personal fight against products that run bad software–that is, software that is locked-down, controlling, and designed to benefit the company that makes it, rather than the consumer that uses it. Apples’ latest decision to search all Apple phones for child pornography (and one imagines in the future for anything else governments tell Apple to look for) is only the latest example of bad software.
